At the age of seven girls move into the main school where they are taught in two parallel classes. They are encouraged to work more independently on formal academic subjects guided increasingly by specialist subject teachers. However, sport, the performing and creative arts and music are just as important in providing a broad curriculum. We also place great emphasis on developing the girls’ confidence and life skills necessary for their future development. The curriculum ensures girls are well prepared for the transition to Senior School and our pupils are very successful in gaining places to their chosen Senior Schools.
Parents are kept informed of school events through regular newsletters. Reports are sent home twice a year and there are formal parents’ meetings to discuss pupil progress. We work ‘with’ parents to ensure pupils’ progress and happiness and parents are welcome at any time to discuss issues that may be affecting their daughter’s academic progress or well being. Teachers will personally respond to parental concerns within twenty four hours of an issue being raised. Appointments can be made with the Headmistress whenever necessary.
