What can Halstead Preparatory School offer your daughter?

We believe passionately in the ethos of single sex education for girls.  Girls and boys develop at different rates, so at Halstead we can direct our teaching strategies to suit your daughter, ensuring she makes the best possible progress.  We are aware too that little girls are very keen to please and like to conform; we ensure they learn that it is acceptable to be wrong, to question and to challenge.  Thus we lay the foundations for the life skills girls will need in the future.

We aim to give the girls a rounded education: solid academic foundation, a love of music, sport, art, dance, drama, and proficiency with technology, good life skills and much more.  And the positive feedback we receive from senior schools about how 'well rounded' Halstead girls implies we succeed in our aims.

A 'preparatory school' prepares girls for senior school.  We get to know all our pupils extremely well and, when the time arrives, will advise you on the best choice of school for your daughter.  We have an outstanding record of getting our pupils into their first choice of senior school and, as our Honours Board attests, many of our pupils gain scholarships.

More than anything we want girls to leave Halstead at age eleven with a sound academic base, good self-esteem and the confidence to undertake and achieve anything they wish, having thoroughly enjoyed their time with us.
